Welcome to Fr. James Sterner

Effective June 19, 2017, Fr. Sterner, a priest of the Diocese of Harrisburg retired and took up residence with us at Good Shepherd. Fr. Sterner was born and raised in McSherrystown, PA, and after getting his college degree in teaching he began a short career in teaching at Lancaster Catholic High School. He went to the seminary at Mount St. Mary’s and was ordained a priest in 1971. Fr. Sterner served at St. Vincent’s Parish in Hanover, then St. Joseph’s Parish in Hanover. It was at St. Joseph’s Parish where Fr. Sterner and I worked together as the Assistants to Msgr. Robert Gribbin who was Pastor at that time. Fr. Sterner was at St. Joseph Parish for five years and then moved to St. Aloysius Parish in Littlestown PA where he served for the last twenty-seven
years as Pastor before retiring this year. Please join Fr. Ben and me in welcoming Fr. Sterner to Good Shepherd Parish.
