Since the late 1970’s, our diocese has invited people in our parishes to help priests who are the ordinary ministers of Communion to distribute Communion in our churches. Those who serve must be faithful to the Christian way of living and be faithful to the Church in the following ways:
- Taking part at least weekly in Sunday Mass and Holy Days of Obligation
- Living a moral life
- Be in a valid marriage
- Be at least 18 years of age
Have received the Sacraments of Initiation,namely, Baptism, Confirmation, & the Eucharist. If you are interested in serving your parish as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, please contact Father Burger at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the office.
Please note that anyone who asks to be considered for this important ministry will have their name published in the bulletin which is required by Church Law giving people an opportunity to express any concerns regarding an applicant.
